Lovely decor, delicious afternoon tea. Well done ladies! Lesley
I visited here with my parents who are in their 80s, my daughter and grand-daughter. Although no high chair was available, the owner provided a lovely little seat to attach on to the chair so that my grand-daughter was very much a part of the "tea party". We had a lovely selection of both vegetarian and non vegetarian sandwiches and plenty of them. The warmed scones were very tasty and the cake selection fresh and beautifully presented. On hearing it was my father's birthday the owner then came through with a little cake and candle for him which was all unplanned and on the spur of the moment and was such a kind and much appreciated gesture. Certainly made my dad feel very special. Thank you!
The atmosphere is one of sitting in a cosy living room which is so relaxing and especially being surrounded by so many pretty things to look at from bygone days.
Thank you so very much. Our little tea party turned into a very special one thanks to the special treatment of my dad by the owner. We will definitely be back!
Very cute Tearoom
I went here on a Saturday afternoon with my boyfriend after buying an itison voucher for afternoon tea. We got lost on the way there and arrived 15 minutes late but were shown to our table. I had phone up in advance to tell them I was gluten free and this was all dealt with when we arrived. The tea room is very small, about 5 tables in total but the decor and china was really cute, the quirkiest little teacups and plates.
The food was okay, there was plenty of it so we left feeling very full. The sandwiches were serviced with ample amounts of crisps but weren't to my taste unfortunately, there was a silton one that I couldn't eat and a fish pate sandwich which I also let my boyfriend eat but the ham and apple ones were very nice. The gluten free scone I got was also of a high quality which is a nice change as they were usually like bricks!! My boyfrend got a blueberry cupcake which he said was possibly the nicest one he had ever eaten and i got a meringue being gluten free which was fine. We also got a non-alcholic pink champagne each and 2 pots of tea.
The staff were very friendly, asking if we required top ups of our tea or any drinks, we really enjoyed ourselves and left feeling full! I'd definitely go back :)
